A heads up for library goers in Fuquay-Varina: The Fuquay-Varina Community Library will close at the end of the business day on Saturday for a minor renovation.

The library will extend its Saturday hours this Saturday until 5 p.m. Books checked out on that last day aren't due back until Oct. 12. The library will get new carpet, paint, furnishings and an altered floor plan to make it more user-friendly, according to a Wake County Library press release. It's expected to reopen on Sept. 28.

The outside book return will be closed during the project. The closest locations to Fuquay are the Southeast Regional Library (908 7th Avenue Garner), the Eva Perry Regional Library (2100 Shepherd’s Vineyard Dr. Apex) and the Holly Springs Community Library (300 W. Ballantine St. Holly Springs).

And another tidbit from the release: "The library remains in the Wake County’s Capital Improvement Plan and will eventually be replaced with a larger facility. The current minor renovation is meant to improve the facility until bonds are sold and new library construction can begin."
