Fuquay-Varina library reopens Saturday after renovation

Posted September 25, 2013

The Fuquay-Varina Community Library will reopen this Saturday after a minor renovation. The library closed in early August for the work, which included new paint, carpet and a new building footprint to make it more user friendly.

The library is planning a day of events to mark the reopening. Here's what's scheduled on Saturday:

10 a.m. Opening and informal greetings by library staff
10:30 a.m. Family Storytime with Librarian Laura Harpham
11:30 a.m. Two hour “make and take” craft for children
2 p.m. School Aged Super Special: Fish the Magish with storytelling and mind-bending magic for all ages
3 p.m. Fish the Magish continues with balloon art
6 p.m. Library closes for the day.

The Fuquay-Varina Woman's Club will provide some light refreshments from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Also, now that it's open, the library will operate under expanded hours, part of a system-wide plan that went into effect Sept. 1. The library's new hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday.

I know there are some moms in Fuquay-Varina who will be pretty excited about this development.
