Man arrested in connection with Fuquay-Varina stabbing death

A man was arrested and charged with voluntary manslaughter Thursday afternoon in connection with a deadly stabbing in Fuquay-Varina, authorities said.

FUQUAY-VARINA, N.C. — A man was arrested and charged with voluntary manslaughter Thursday afternoon in connection with a deadly stabbing in Fuquay-Varina, authorities said.

Officers went to 325 W. Jones St. at about 12:30 a.m. in response to a call about a fight in progress. They found Andrew Frank Dibona, who lived at that address, and Jerrod Montrell Brown in the front yard with injuries from the altercation.

Dibona, 43, was taken to WakeMed in Raleigh, where he was pronounced dead. Officials said his death was a result of stabbing. Brown was treated for minor injuries at WakeMed Apex.
Brown, 29, was arrested and charged late Thursday afternoon, officials said. He is currently being held at the Wake County Detention Center. No further information has been released.
