CARTERSVILLE, GA — The 2 year-old boy who drowned after he and his three other siblings were abandoned by their mother on Memorial Day will be laid to rest Friday.

Jagger Reese Settles was found dead at his home on Canter Lane in Cartersville just after 1:30 p.m. on Memorial Day when neighbors found his lifeless body in a pool.

The boy's mother, 32 year-old Bobbie Prather, is charged with felony murder and four counts of cruelty to children. Three other children, a 4 year-old boy and two twin 1 year-old boys, were allegedly left unattended by their mother for more than 14 hours without food.

Prather was later arrested and taken to the Bartow County Jail. The father of the 3 year-old child, Douglas Settles, was also arrested on warrants unrelated to the case. Investigators have not ruled out charging him in his son's death.

Funeral services will be held for little Reese Settles on Friday morning at Owen Funeral Home in Cartersville and his internment will follow at Bascomb Carmel Baptist Church in Woodstock.
