Fundraiser planned for Raleigh firefighters this weekend

Heat fitness Studios and Little City Brewing, which are located just blocks from where a massive fire destroyed an apartment building on March 16, will be offering special events with proceeds going to the Raleigh Professional Firefighters Association.

RALEIGH, N.C. — A fundraiser to help support Raleigh firefighters is planned Sunday at Glenwood South.
Heat Fitness Studios and Little City Brewing, which are located Complete coverage: Downtown Raleigh fire causes devastationjust blocks from where a massive fire{/a}} destroyed an apartment building on March 16, will be hosting special events with proceeds going to the Raleigh Professional Firefighters Association.
Heat, 400 Glenwood Ave., will hold a free group workout (donations are encouraged) from 11 a.m. until noon. Registration is required for this high-intensity interval training class. Spots can be reserved by contacting Jake Giamoni at jake@heatstudios.com. Raleigh firefighters are also being offered two weeks of free unlimited classes at Heat.
Following Sunday's workout, Little City Brewing, 400 W. North St., will have various festivities from noon to 3 p.m.

The brewery is teaming up with its sister restaurant Virgil’s Original Taqueria and Chef Ryan Moore for a taco bar. For $20 per person, people get access to the bar and a pint of beer. All firefighters, police and first responders eat free.

For a suggested donation of $5 to $10, Little City's head brewery Burt Halbert will lead guided tours through the brewing process.

Mercedes-Benz of Durham and its employees have contributed funds to the event and cause.
