Fuel spill from wreck delays Capital Boulevard traffic

Posted May 11, 2011

Traffic Accident (generic)

— A multi-car wreck on Capital Boulevard in Wake Forest near the Caveness Farms subdivision on Wednesday evening caused back-ups for several miles in both directions.

One northbound lane was reopened around 7:30 p.m., but a town spokesman said it could be several hours before both lanes were accessible.

Officials said a truck's fuel tank that was ruptured in the wreck was leaking in the roadway.

The entrance to Caveness Farms Avenue is also closed.

Traffic is heavily delayed and motorists are encouraged to avoid the area.

I live just the other side of Capital Blvd. across from Caveness. Also, I have some friends who live in the Caveness area.

I agree. I was stuck in this traffic yesterday. The wreck looked pretty bad, it involved some dump trucks and looked like a car or truck was upside down and smooshed pretty badly. I would like to know what happened!!!

Any plans on releasing any further details on this wreck? Anyone injured e.g.?
