Fruitcake is a family thing for Bear Creek business

Posted December 16, 2014

Southern Supreme Fruitcake Co., in tiny Bear Creek, sits in what was once a cow pasture. Yet the parking lot is packed with customers who come in to buy the delicious fruitcake. The family started making the much-maligned holiday treat in their garage 30 years ago. Now, they ship cakes all over the world.

Growing up in Montana my folks used to get a fruit cake that was very, very good. I don't remember the brand etc. And yes, some fruitcakes are very tasty while others are better doorstops.

These are awesome -- fruitcake is really a misnomer. They contain more nuts and very little fruit. I hate traditional fruitcake but these are wonderful!
