Posted — UpdatedKidz Bop Kids' Best Time Ever Tour is headed to Red Hat Amphitheater next month.
The show, featuring the "No. 1 music brand for kids," will be at the downtown Raleigh amphitheater at 7 p.m., May 5. The group features popular songs sung by kids. Tickets are between $25 and $45 and are on sale now.
I checked in by email with 13-year-old Freddy, one of the Kidz Bop stars on tour. Here's a quick Q&A with the singer, who hails from California.
Go Ask Mom: How and when did you start singing? What do you remember about your first performance?
Freddy: I started singing when I was two years old at a church fundraiser event. The event had a luau and a Polynesian band playing. I jumped on stage and started singing and dancing with the band! I’ve been performing in front of audiences ever since. My parents always DJ for parties, and I always perform on stage with them.
GAM: How did you get hooked up with Kidz Bop?
Freddy: KIDZ BOP held a nationwide casting call. I sent in an audition video among thousands of other kids. I received a call-back to meet with The KIDZ BOP team in Hollywood. After a three-day audition, I was chosen to be one of The KIDZ BOP Kids!
GAM: What's it like being on tour?
Freddy: We’re still in rehearsals for the tour, but the show will officially kick-off in Raleigh! I can’t wait to ride the tour bus and meet all of our fans!
GAM: What's your favorite moment or song from the show?
Freddy: My favorite number from the show is “Can’t Stop The Feeling!” It’s such a fun song and our dance moves are awesome. Fans are going to love it!
GAM: What's it like dealing with all of the fans?
Freddy: Our fans are amazing! We love hearing from fans on social media. I can’t wait to travel around the country and meet them all!
