Various House subcommittees rolled out sections of the chamber's proposed spending plan, which will be hashed out and cobbled together in the coming days.

During a lengthy floor debate, the House voted to overhaul the state tax code – lowering personal and corporate income taxes while expanding sales taxes to various services – and to tap the brakes on the Senate's fast-track plans to allow gas drilling in North Carolina.

    I would change this and not call it overtime as the Legislators get paid per deim pay in Thousands of dollars when they are not even in meetings in Raleigh. THIS IS WRONG WRONG WRONG for them to bill tax payers when they are not in meetings.
