Weekly Wrap: New maps yet again, overrides that didn't happen

Little happened as expected this week at the North Carolina General Assembly.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Little happened as expected this week at the North Carolina General Assembly.

The special session was supposed to be the veto override session, but with so many legislators out of town, the legislature didn't have the necessary votes needed for the overrides. Those votes will likely happen when they return in two weeks.

A court ruled on Monday that new legislative district maps need to be drawn by Sept. 1, so things must start moving much faster than planned.
