Shoppers, sports fans will need layers on Saturday
"Bundle up if you will be spending any length of time outdoors since the wind will have a definitive bite to it," said WRAL meteorologist Mike Maze. Saturday afternoon will be about 20 degrees cooler than Friday's high of 67.
Posted — Updated"Bundle up if you will be spending any length of time outdoors since the wind will have a definitive bite to it," said WRAL meteorologist Mike Maze. Saturday afternoon will be about 20 degrees cooler than Friday's high of 67.
A cold front pushed Friday's sunny warmth away in favor of a much cooler outlook for the next seven days. Only on Monday is the temperature forecast to reach 60.
Saturday will be sunny, but a wind from the northwest at 10 to 20 mph will hold the temperature in check.
"We'll only see about a 10 to 15 degree difference from our morning low," Maze said.
Those winds and clear skies will also set the stage for the coldest morning of the season Sunday, when most areas will see the first true hard freeze of the winter. Sunday will be sunny and cold, but without the windy bite of Saturday.
