Friday freebies: haircuts, family picture, kids workshops, Legos & more!

Posted November 2, 2012

This week's Friday Freebies is kind of a kids edition with free kids haircuts, free LEGO event, free kids workshops at Lowes and Home Depot and a free family picture from JC Penney! Read on for all the kids-friendly details!

Free LEGO mini model build on Tuesday, November 6th at 5 pm. Kids ages 6 – 14 get to build and keep a mini LEGO turkey! How cute is that turkey in the picture above?! There is a LEGO store in Crabtree Mall in Raleigh. One per child while supplies last. Click HERE for more details.

Free 8 x 10 family portrait and low res digital image at JC Penney during the month of November. There is no sitting fee charged. From what I am reading, the digital image is not high enough quality to use for holiday cards and is more suited for e-mailing and posting on Facebook. Call your local JCP studio to schedule the appointment. Valid 11/1 – 11/30, while appointments last.

Free kids haircut at JC Penney every Sunday starting November 4th for kids in K – 6th grade at participating locations. Call your local JCP salon to make an appointment. Remember that if you take advantage of this freebie, that the hairdressers are working for minimum wage while giving these free haircuts. Please consider tipping on the regular cost of the haircuts. Click HERE to find a salon near you.

Home Depot kids workshop: Kids will be building a turkey napkin holder on Saturday, November 3 from 9 am – 12 pm. The workshops are for kids ages 5 – 12 and no pre-registration is required. Kids get to keep the craft and get a free Kids Workshop apron, commemorative pin and certificate of achievement. Click HERE for more information.

Lowes Build & Grow workshop: The next free kids workshop is November 17 at 10 am. The kids will be building a North’s Sleigh from DreamWorks Animation's new movie Rise of the Guardians! The kids get to keep their project and get an apron, goggles, patch and more! You need to pre-register HERE.

The Lego event was a MADHOUSE.... probably never try that again. We didn't stay, just not worth it...
