RALEIGH, N.C. — Freeze warnings were in effect Sunday for Wake, Durham, Orange, Nash and Chatham Counties, making it a chilly start for runners participating in the Rock 'n' Roll Raleigh Half-Marathon at 7 a.m.

The freeze warnings will expire at 9 a.m., and, according to WRAL meteorologist Mike Moss, despite the morning cold, Sunday afternoon will be sunny and warmer.

According to Moss, Tuesday and Wednesday will be in the 60s before temperatures in the 70s and 80s emerge for Thursday and the weekend.
