A free Body Back class is planned Sept. 13 at the Midtown Farmers' Market
Fit4Mom, the business behind Stroller Strides and other workout programs for moms, will be offering a free Body Back class for moms at our event at the Midtown Farmers' Market at North Hills in Raleigh on Saturday.

The free class will be 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. It's a preview of the eight-week health and fitness program that's designed for moms of all fitness levels and begins Sept. 15. One caveat: This is not for pregnant women or new moms who have yet to clear their six-week postpartum check-up as the workout is higher intensity.

Here's how it's described: "Body Back is a results-focused workout and nutrition program designed specifically for moms (of any age). It includes high intensity, interval workouts along with before and after fitness assessments, nutritional guidance, motivational coaching and support, resulting in weight loss, increased strength and energy."

The program has early morning, evening and middle-of-the-day sessions in Raleigh. For details about the series, check the website. If you plan on joining us for Saturday morning's free class, be sure to register so that they make sure they have enough equipment. Participants should bring a water bottle and yoga mat or towel.

Missy Currin, the mom behind Fit4Mom of Midtown Raleigh, is excited to offer this class. I might just try to join in on Saturday!

Go Ask Mom will be at the farmers' market from 8 a.m. to noon, Saturday, with all sorts of activities. The Body Back class is designed for just mom ... so bring your friends for a fun, active hour and have dads, grandmas, aunts, uncles hang with the kids to enjoy the other activities we'll have.

Here's a line-up for our morning. Find it on the commons area next to Starbucks and Ben & Jerry's and across from the movie theater.

We'll bring out gourmet cotton candy from Oscar Williams Cotton Candy Co.; a visit from the Chick-fil-A cow from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.; Rapunzel from Fairytale Dreamer from 11 a.m. to noon; an activity from Flour Power Kids Cooking Studio (formerly Lil' Chef) from 9:30 a.m. to noon; a farm-themed craft from Mess Makers; free child IDs from New York Life Insurance Co. (until 10:45 a.m.); and information from The Spanish Corner.
North Raleigh School of Music will offer a demo from 9 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Kristin Schmalzbauer, a local first grade teacher, author and storyteller, will read her story with puppets at 9:35 am. And the Westwood Back Porch string band will play from 10 a.m. to noon.
