Free child IDs, music, activities, fun at Go Ask Mom's North Hills event Wednesday!
Posted May 13, 2013
It's shaping up to be a beautiful morning for our big event at North Hills in Raleigh on Wednesday! WRAL is forecasting a party cloudy, breezy day with a high of 84!
I am so excited to team up with North Hills Kids, Stroller Strides of Midtown Raleigh, Lil' Chef, First-In Fire Company, Rissi Palmer, Artspace, the Wake County Sheriff's Office and Chick-fil-A North Hills to bring you all kinds of free activities.
They include a free workout for mom, free child IDs, free crafts, a free performance from Palmer and a free chance to explore First-In Fire's fire truck! We'll have free snacks and drinks (while supplies last), along with a chance to win a $25 gift certificate to Dickey's Barbecue Pit!
We'll also be collecting diapers for The Diaper Train, a Wake County group that distributes the diapers to needy families.
The group is more than happy to take open packages of diapers. So if you have some squirreled away that are too small for your kids, please bring them! (And, of course, they'll take unopened packages of diapers too). They'd love gently used children's books as they give them to children who come with their parents to collect the diapers.
For the full schedule and information, including how to sign up for the free Stroller Strides class, go to the original post about the event. We'll be there from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Wednesday!
And a word on the child IDs provided by the Wake County Sheriff's Office: These tend to be very popular. We've had some pretty long lines. If you'd like an ID, be sure to get there as early as you can to avoid the lines.
This is, I believe, our eighth event at North Hills since 2010. I always have such a great time meeting so many Go Ask Mom readers and their kids, and new ones too! I hope to see you there!
And if you can't make it on Wednesday, mark your calendars for Wednesday, Aug. 21, and Saturday, Aug. 31, when we'll return!
