Fred Taylor, who worked at WRAL-TV for 36 years as an anchor, assignment editor and reporter before retiring in 2007, passed away Sunday. He was 73.

Fred Taylor, who worked at WRAL-TV for 36 years as a reporter, anchor and assignment editor before retiring in 2007, passed away Sunday. He was 73.

Taylor suffered from an undisclosed illness when he died.

He is survived by his wife, Jo, three daughters, a step-daughter and two step-sons.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Montlawn Funeral Home in Garner.
