Franklinton police seek man in connection with gas station armed robbery

Franklinton police were searching early Wednesday for a man wanted in connection with an armed robbery at a Wilco Hess service station.

FRANKLINTON, N.C. — Franklinton police were searching early Wednesday for a man wanted in connection with an armed robbery at a Wilco Hess service station.

According to investigators, a man entered the gas station, at 3468 U.S. Highway 1, at about 3:45 a.m. Wednesday armed with a handgun. He demanded money from the employee working the cash register, and he fled the area on foot. No injuries were reported.

The suspect stands about 5 feet 7 inches tall and was wearing black pants, a black jacket and black hat.
