Man accused of posing as woman to sexually exploit boys

Posted April 11, 2013

— A Franklinton man was arrested Thursday after he received explicit photographs of a 14-year-old boy and threatened to distribute them online.

Mitchell Franklin Louws, 18, of 789 Timberlake Road, was charged with first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and two counts of extortion.

Raleigh police say Louws posed online as a woman last month and then encouraged the boy to send the photos. He then threatened to send them to the boy’s friends and family and post them on social media sites if the boy did not send him more, police said.

Investigators say Louws also threatened to do the same thing to a 13-year-old boy.

Bond information on Louws was not available.

Let's be careful to avoid judging too quickly here. ALL have sinned and FALLEN SHORT of the glory of God. No one is righteous, not one!

God does not judge or view sin differently. Sexual immorality is sexual immorality, whether it is adultery, pre-marital sex or a man lusting after men.

Mitchell's mugshot is posted in the newspaper. His sins are publicized and they have truly "found him out." Although his sins fall outside the spectrum of socially accepted behavior by our (corrupt) society, this does NOT give us the prerogative to say, "what a sicko, I can't believe how depraved our society is!"

We all deserve death, and unless your hands are nail-scarred I'm guessing that you have sinned in a manner that is accepted by society (lying, adultery etc...)

The good news is that Jesus died to save ALL and whoever believes in him will have eternal life.

Let's be reminded that this situation is not outside of God's plan. This situation will be used for his glory.

"One of the problems with society that needs to be corrected in order to cut down on crime, themacs, is the attitude of people like you who are more apt to blame society or victims for criminal behavior than the perpetrators."

Incorrect. I blame this young man for his actions.

"I think you understand my point. When we force developing adolescents to deny their sexuality, how surprised can we be when it comes out in a perverted way?" themacs

No, not really. Our society does everything but tell kids to deny their sexuality. It's everywhere. Celebrate this and that! This young man (if guilty) is a pervert and society has nothing to do with what he's accused of, but society has everything to do with how we handle it.

"...and those (this person I would bet) who vote for liberals."

What does being a liberal have to do with this? Seriously grandpa get a life.

"Everyone makes mistakes. Judging this mans character is not going to make this situation go away. I pray for this man and his family. I pray that he gets help. I do not think him going to jail will help him. He is just a confused man and not a sicko or pedophile. He is very dear to me and I dont agree with most of these comments"

Does anyone really not understand why this country is going to the dumps???? Between the leeches on society and those (this person I would bet) who vote for liberals to enable the leeches we are all in trouble. Yep anyone who robs a bank was "poor" so we should let them go too. I feel sick.

"But punishment is too late. As a society, we need to correct problems that contribute to crimes BEFORE they happen."

I see, so the suppression of the LGBT community leads some to this. Makes perfect sense now.

I wasn't making an excuse for him. What he is accused of doing is despicable, and he should be punished if guilty. If guilty, he is definitely a sex offender.

But punishment is too late. As a society, we need to correct problems that contribute to crimes BEFORE they happen.

"It doesn't help that as a society we still force gay people to repress their sexuality."

Now I've heard it all. There's always an excuse for protected classes. He needs to register as a sex offender, because he's an assault case waiting to happen.
