RALEIGH, N.C. — A Franklinton man was arrested Thursday after he received explicit photographs of a 14-year-old boy and threatened to distribute them online.

Mitchell Franklin Louws, 18, of 789 Timberlake Road, was charged with first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and two counts of extortion.

Raleigh police say Louws posed online as a woman last month and then encouraged the boy to send the photos. He then threatened to send them to the boy’s friends and family and post them on social media sites if the boy did not send him more, police said.

Investigators say Louws also threatened to do the same thing to a 13-year-old boy.

Bond information on Louws was not available.
