Fire erupted at a Franklin County home Monday, leaving a woman dead and a man badly injured, according to Sheriff Jerry Jones.

Jones said Shoshana Marie Reilly and her fiancé Christopher Tucker were on the second story when the blaze erupted. They tried to get downstairs, but discovered they were trapped. After urging her to jump out a window to safety, Tucker jumped alone, Jones said.

He was taken to UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill with burns to his left arm, Jones said.

Six other people at the house, who were all downstairs when the fire broke out, got out safely.

Jones said the cause of the fire, at 2637 Rocky Ford Road near Kittrell, has not been determined, but investigators found multiple space heaters inside the home.

Seven fire departments from Franklin and Vance counties helped extinguish the blaze, which started shortly before 3 p.m.

I read on another story they found her on the first floor, they think she might have gone back to get the dogs :( http://www.nbcnews.com/id/51041923/ns/local_news-raleigh_nc/

I would've thrown her out the window. Hurt and mad but probably be alive. Most likely she told him to go first to either show it could be done or to maybe catch her and she either couldn't bring herself to jump or was overcome at that point. Sad either way.

It is easy to judge someone from the outside.

Obamacare rises Very heroic of the man to jump out of the window and leave his fiancee to die.

Read the whole story, it said he urged her to jump. He tried, and remember he was burned badly.

always can count on one judgmental comment from someone who lacks details to the matter.

Spineless
