Fourth of July, Festival for the Eno lead our weekend best bets

RALEIGH, N.C. — Fourth of July celebrations are taking place through the weekend in communities around the Triangle. Some of the big ones are:

The 'Works in downtown Raleigh on July 4: An afternoon and evening of family fun, live music, activities, contests and more. Fireworks start at 9:30 p.m.

Independence Day Concert with the NC Symphony on July 4: Listen to patriotic favorites during this free concert at Koka Booth Amphitheatre. There will also be contests, face painting, a sail boat show and fireworks.

Fort Bragg Fourth of July Celebration on July 4: Fort Bragg's Independence Day celebration returns with national acts Josh Turner and .38 Special taking the stage. There will also be fireworks, a flag ceremony and Kiddieland fun for the young ones.

Jammin' Jazz 4th of July on July 4: Head to the American Tobacco Amphitheater in Durham for an evening full of live jazz. The concert is free and you will be able to see the DBAP fireworks afterward if you don't want to go into the stadium to watch them.

The 35th Annual Festival for the Eno is Friday and Saturday. This is a fun event with more than 65 musical acts on four stages, a beer garden, a juried arts show and river activities. The festival is at the West Point on the Eno City Park and a free shuttle service is available. Tickets start at $20 for adults and children 12 and under are free. 

Does the World Cup have you in the mood to watch more soccer matches? Catch the Carolina RailHawks take on Puebla FC at the WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary on Sunday afternoon. Tickets start at $15 and family packages are available.

The Cedar Lake Ballet Company comes to the DPAC on Saturday and Sunday. In the show guests will be able to see the work of several different choreographers who are involved. Tickets start at $10.
