— Four juveniles have been charged with vandalizing the kitchen at Smith Middle School, including urinating in the ice machine, police said Tuesday.

Two of the juveniles were 12, one was 13 and one was 15, police said. Police couldn't confirm whether they were Smith students.

The vandalism occurred Dec. 15, and school officials said in a letter sent to school staff and parents of students that the ice machine was used for three days after that. Public health officials have said the tainted ice posed no health risk, but school officials said they planned to clean and disinfect the machine and other affected items before using them again.

I think these boys need to be punished. I also think that people need to stop living in fear if the health inspector says its no risk, then move on.

That is GROSS!!!!! Those children should be punished. My child would be in so much trouble. He would also be doing ALOT of community service around that school.

DeathRow-IFeelYourPain-NOT, all these viruses you speak of are very fragile viruses and could not survive more than a few seconds in sub-zero temperatures.

Since the health officials say ice does not pose a health risk.
They should be made to urinate in their ice and drink it.

I hope the parents of these boys have nice strong belts. A good spanking never did anyone any harm, and these boys need it to learn a lesson. They should also be made to consume the ice in the ice maker

"Public health officials have said the tainted ice poses no health risk,....."

Excuse Me! OK, maybe I'm uneducated on medical issues. But if a student had something like AIDS, Hepatitus, Bird Flu(I'm pushing it), etc., and they urinate into the ice machine, can't that be passed to someone else through consumption? Maybe they figure the virus would die too quick in the cold environment. Anyone else able to elaborate further? I'm interested.

I still remember my mother literally washing my mouth out with Octagon Soap if I talked back to her or used language she didn't approve of.(And trust me, I learned my lesson.) I believe I know what these boys need to have their mouths washed out with.
