RALEIGH, N.C. — Four teens have been charged in connection with an attempted armed robbery in Raleigh and a burglary in Cary, authorities said Friday.

Cedrick Antonio High and Shaquille Dshawn Hunter, both 16, face charges of conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a stolen vehicle in the Dec. 23 attempted robbery, which happened outside a convenience store on the corner of Lake Wheeler and Tryon roads in Raleigh.

Police say two armed men approached a woman at an ATM and that someone fired shots at her vehicle. The woman was not injured.

Authorities arrested the men a short time later after they crashed a stolen white 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV near Lake Wheeler Road and Interstate 40, while trying to flee from police.

In addition to High and Hunter, police detained two 14-year-old boys.

One was served with juvenile petitions for attempted robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a stolen vehicle.

The other was served with juvenile petitions for conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a stolen vehicle.

Cary police subsequently named the four suspects in a home burglary that happened Wednesday on Windstream Way in Cary.

High and Hunter each face charges of first-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary in that case, and the two 14-year-olds were served juvenile petitions on the same charges, Cary police said.
