A 43-year-old man told police that while he was walking in the 300 block of Fairview Road around 10:45 p.m., a man got out the back seat of a burgundy car and approached him. The man pointed a shotgun at him and demanded money. The victim handed over his wallet and cell phone.

A 33-year-old man told police that he was walking in the 1200 block of Pitt Street shortly after 11 p.m. when a man got out of a burgundy vehicle. The man pointed a shotgun at him and told him to "come here." The victim ran away.

Later that night, police said, officers stopped a burgundy vehicle and inside it, found a sawed-off shotgun, red scarf, mask and a wallet belonging to the victim of the first robbery.

The vehicle's occupants were charged in the first robbery, and the investigation of the second continues.

holy cow, maybe that's why Rocky Mount has the problems it has now. $15,000 bond for commiting an armed robbery and for doing an armed robbery with a sawed off shotgun, lets bump it up to $23,000. That is crazy. I would hate to see what a murder suspect would get.
