Four plead to series of robberies from food delivery people

RALEIGH, N.C. — Four people pleaded guilty Wednesday to charges related to a series of robberies earlier this year.

Jasmine Yvette McFadden, 22, pleaded guilty to robbery of a business.

The other three defendants – Joseph Andrea Tinsley, 24, Christopher Sherod Clay, 22, and Anastasia Ashley Richardson, 22 – each pleaded guilty to aiding and abetting the conspiracy to commit robberies of a business.

Tinsley was implicated in six crimes. Each of the others played varying roles.

The first robbery occurred Sept. 13 at the Dollar Store on Capital Boulevard in Raleigh. During the robbery, Tinsley held a knife to the store clerk’s throat.

On Jan. 2, Tinsley, Clay and one other person robbed a taxi driver.

On Jan. 11, Tinsley beat and robbed a person who was delivering pizza to Richardson at a Park Glenn Drive address.

The pair repeated the process on three other occasions, with help from Clay and McFadden, ordering food then beating and robbing the driver.

"These defendants essentially were terrorizing the community and some of its most vulnerable workers. We are gratified by the pleas of guilty and look forward to sentencing,” U.S. attorney George Holding said.
