DURHAM, N.C. — Durham police have four suspects in custody after an armed robbery of a Game Stop store and police chase Saturday morning.

Police said the suspects took merchandise and cash from the business, at 4600 Chapel Hill Blvd., around 10:30 a.m., then fled in a dark-colored sedan.

Officers responding to the robbery spotted a vehicle matching that description of the suspect vehicle. Police said the driver sped away, and officers were authorized to pursue it.

The driver lost control of the sedan in the 5300 block of Fayetteville Road, ran off the road and crashed into a tree, police said. No one was injured.

Three suspects were taken into custody at the wreck scene, but a fourth ran away.

The suspect was caught after an extensive search by K9 units that included the American Tobacco Trail, police said.

The suspects, whose names haven't been released, were being interviewed by investigators.
