mm23, is there any state that has seat belts on school buses? I asking because you stated that NC is behind in this. Please enlighten me.

Seat belts in the buses is one of those ideas which sounds great but is probably next to impossible to implement. The drivers would have to spend so much time checking to make sure that they were fastened that the buses would never move.

The problem with many buses in OC is they are over crowded. Kids are made to stand up while riding in the bus. This is scary.

Yes kids need to learn to stay in their seats thats what parents are for. To teach their children. Hope all will be ok

  • AliceBToklas Nov 5, 2013

I just hope the kids will all be OK.

Good luck getting the kids to wear belts and leave them on.

as long as it isn't just lap belts.. need the shoulder part as well.

Seat belts should be on every school bus. Sad that North Carolina is so far behind in this. It may not prevent every injury, but it can only help. Not to mention it creates some order on the bus as the kids need to stay where they are.
