Four charged in Greenville gun battle

Posted August 7, 2008

— Greenville police have arrested four men they believe were involved in a shoot-out in November 2007.

On Nov. 2, police found the body of Terrance Carlnell Vines, 21, in the 1900 block of Kennedy Circle. Officers recovered a handgun near his body.

Investigators believe that Vines and two other men exchanged shots in a gun battle with brothers Jamal and Joshua Nobles. It is unclear who fired the shot that killed Vines.

Jamal and Joshua Nobles were both charged last fall with possession of a firearm by a felon.

James Zevantron Johnson and Ricky Donyea Barnhill were both charged with first-degree murder. They are being held at the Pitt County Detention Center.

People like this get satisfaction from being called thugs or gang members. I won't give them that. It appears to me they are animals without values, morals or concern. Now they will add to the drain on taxpayers. Put 'em to sleep, quickly!

I remember Josh Nobles from high school. It's a shame. He used to be such a nice guy, but he always did have trouble even then. :(
