— Four people have been charged in the beating and robbery of a Fairmont High School teacher outside his home last week, authorities said Tuesday.

Roy Lee Bauguess, 63, told investigators that he had returned home on the afternoon of Aug. 10 when two young men knocked on his front door and asked to use his phone. He gave them a cordless phone to use, and the men struck him while standing on the front porch and grabbed his wallet, Bauguess told police.

The pair fled with two young women in a car, and the debit and credit cards in the wallet were used to make several purchases. Police were able to use store security videos to identify several suspects.

Stephen Hunt, 17, and an unidentified 15-year-old boy were charged with common law robbery, and Jessica Hammond, 18, and Stephanie Lozano, 23, were charged with felony conspiracy.

If they had been caught under-age drinking or smoking, or lord forbid with a quarter ounce of weed, the penalties they are facing would have been quadrupled. Priorities, people, are what we need.

Don't these kids have anything better to do?? Jobs, hobbies, etc?? I always answer my door with a s&w, always. Just can't trust anyone any more.

Once again; young punks not respecting their elders!! Who the hell is raising these kids now days. Back in the day, you would never hear of such torment! This is a big reason for the increase in gang violence and students dropping out of school; go out and make a quick dollar rather then get a education and earn your money the legal way.

I never answer my door to unexpected visitors. My dog does that for me :-) Did these kids really think they could use his credit and debit cards and not be caught?
