Fort Bragg soldiers to deploy to Afghanistan
Fort Bragg officials announced Thursday that the 1st Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Division Ready Force one of the Global Response Force has received orders to deploy to Afghanistan in May.
Posted — UpdatedFORT BRAGG, N.C. — Fort Bragg officials announced Thursday that the 1st Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Division Ready Force one of the Global Response Force has received orders to deploy to Afghanistan in May.
Members of the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, will be deploying for the ninth time since the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.
The battalion recently provided humanitarian assistance in Haiti following a devastating earthquake in January.
The battalion will take part in the International Security Assistance Force effort increasing the capabilities of the Afghan National Security Forces and improving security for the Afghan people.
