Fort Bragg soldiers receive new mission: home
More than 100 soldiers from the 82nd Airborne Division returned to Fort Bragg on Monday.

Edwards was among many family members at Fort Bragg Monday afternoon who welcomed home more than 100 soldiers from the 82nd Airborne Division.
Some were meeting their loved ones for the first time.
“We are so excited for her to meet him and him to meet her,” said Laura Alvarez while holding her five-month-old daughter, Emerson. “I think it was a pretty emotional time for (her husband). I think he was sad he couldn’t be (at her birth).”
Alvarez' husband, Lt. Daniel Alvarez, was in Afghanistan providing security for other U.S. forces.
On Monday, his new mission was being daddy.
“It has been a long time coming,” he said after meeting his youngest daughter for the first time. “She looks like mom, which is good.”
