Florida police are investigating the death of a soldier with the Army's 82nd Airborne Division.
Spc. Luis Avila, of Pembroke Pines, Fla., died early Sunday in Bradenton, Fla, the military said Tuesday. It did not say how.
Avila joined the Army in 2011 and was a welder in Company B, 307th Brigade Support Battalion, 1st Brigade Combat Team at Fort Bragg.
He was deployed to Afghanistan from April until September.
He is survived by his mother and father, Victor and Maribel Abensur, of Pembroke Pines.
