Fort Bragg soldier faces child sex offense charges

LILLINGTON, N.C. — A Fort Bragg 82nd Airborne soldier is accused of sex offenses involving a child, a military spokeswoman confirmed Friday.

Sgt. 1st Class McCuen Fox, 36, of 435 Hayden Lane, Cameron, was jailed Tuesday in Harnett County morning under a $50,000 secured bond on two counts of statutory rape and one count of indecent liberties with a child.

According to authorities, the alleged offenses happened in December 2013 and involved a girl under age 16.

"The paratroopers of the 82nd Airborne Division are held to the highest standards when it comes to discipline and professionalism, both on and off duty," 82nd Airborne Division spokeswoman Lt. Col. Virginia McCabe said in a statement. "We take every allegation seriously and will cooperate as needed to facilitate the investigation."
