An 82nd Airborne Division soldier died in a car crash Sunday.

FORT BRAGG, N.C. — An 82nd Airborne Division soldier died in a car crash Sunday.

Details about the single-vehicle crash that killed Spc. Nethaniel H. Wolfson, 22, of Geneseo, N.Y., were not released.

Wolfson entered active duty service in April 2013 as a signal systems support specialist. He attended basic combat training at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., and advanced individual training at Fort Gordon, Ga. He was assigned to the 122nd Aviation Support Battalion, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, 82nd Abn. Div., in November 2013.

"Spc. Wolfson was an incredibly active and jovial paratrooper who was well-liked and admired by everyone in his unit," Capt. Isaac Gregory, 122nd ASB rear-detachment commander, said in a statement. “This dedicated soldier served with distinction and honor; he was a valued asset to the Charlie Company, 122nd Aviation Support Battalion family and this great nation. He will be truly missed. Our thoughts, condolences and prayers are with his family during this time of bereavement."

Wolfson’s awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Army Service Ribbon.
