Fort Bragg soldier charged in shooting death

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — A Fort Bragg soldier has been arrested in the shooting death of a Fayetteville man found in a front yard Wednesday night.

Daniel Anthony Neigel, 24, of A. Co. 1/325 PIR, Ft. Bragg, was charged Thursday evening with voluntary manslaughter in the death of Kenan Tuncay Henyard, 23, of 830 Egypt Drive.

Police found Henyard lying in the yard of a residence at 224 Brewster St. A preliminary investigation determined that he died as a result of a gunshot wound following a confrontation.

Investigators have not released any additional details about the case.

Niegel received a $50,000 unsecured bond and was released into the custody of Fort Bragg military police.
