Former treasurer charged with stealing from Six Forks Rescue

Edward E. Fuller Sr., 55, the former treasurer of the rescue squad, is charged with embezzlement. Authorities said he transferred the money to an account where purchases were made with an unauthorized debit card.

An audit last November revealed the missing money, and Fuller, who managed finances for four EMS stations in northern Wake County, has since resigned.

According to a search warrant unsealed in July, many of the purchases were done by Fuller's son, Edward Fuller Jr., who isn't an employee of Six Forks Rescue.

Jill M. Cafolla, the former office manager for the rescue squad, also was implicated in the scheme, according to the search warrants. She hasn't been charged.
