Former Standard Foods butcher opening a food truck

RALEIGH, N.C. — Chef Steven Goff announced that he is opening Brine Haus Food + Provisions food truck this year. He recently left his position as the butcher at Standard Foods. Previously, he was a chef at Asheville’s King James Pour House. Goff told Out and About that he plans to use his entire animal butchery skills for the cuisine on the truck. He also plans to sell his own pickles. The food truck will open this year, but you can catch him at ChickenwireNC’s events and May’s The Blind Pig Supper Club with Kim Hunter of Kimbap Cafe and Danielle Centeno of Escazu Artisanal Chocolates.

Snap Pea Underground opening more Street Thai pop-up times
You've got extra weekend to check out Snap Pea Underground's Yam Yai street Thai pop-up event. Dinners will run this weekend and next at Chapel Hill’s Midway Community Kitchen. Chef Jacob Boehm has traveled to Thailand, eaten and worked at many Thai restaurants, including the James Beard-award winning Hot Pot in Portland.  Because of his passion and experience, this event is not something to miss.
Gizmo’s 3rd Anniversary is Saturday
Gizmo Brew Works has thrown some great events.  Given this is their anniversary, you won't want to miss it.  They will have some special cask beers and will be releasing their Queen Bee, a bourbon barrel aged imperial honey wheat.  Food trucks Bo’s Kitchen, Captain Cookie and The Milk Man, CockADoodleMoo, King’s Philly,and KoKyu will be also be on hand for Saturday afternoon's party.
36th Annual Meet in the Street
If you are looking for food trucks, Wake Forest will have several for its Meet in the Street festival on Saturday. Baguettaboutit, Bam Pow Chow, Big Al’s BBQ, Charlie’s Kabob Grill, Chirba Chirba, Cousins Maine Lobster, Fuzzy’s Empanadas, Gussy’s Greek Food, JAM Ice Cream, Kona Ice, Lumpy’s Ice Cream and Sweet Traditions will be in downtown Wake Forest for the celebration. There will also be live music, a beer garden, and family friendly activities.
