— For the second time in a week, a former North Carolina State University basketball player faces a criminal charge.

A Wake County deputy pulled over Anthony Montreace Grundy, 31, of 196 Mickelson Ridge Drive in Raleigh, on southbound U.S. Highway 401 on Wednesday and charged him with habitual impaired driving.

The arrest warrant states that Grundy was convicted of DWI in 2004 and twice last year. He also had a pending DWI case at the time of his arrest, according to court records.

No information about his blood-alcohol content in Wednesday's arrest was listed on the warrant.

His bond was set at $10,000.

Grundy played guard for the Wolfpack from 1998 to 2002.

On Sunday, former N.C. State guard Gavin Grant was charged in connection with a September home invasion.

mustangyts - "Why is it mentioned that he was "a former NCSU basketball player??? The guy is 31 years old! The media loves to tag athletes to their programs. As any of the staff of WRAL ever been arrested??? Let's hear about it. "

I could not agree more. But if he was just another street urchin, we would not care less! Its all for the sake of media attention, who can find the best story!

If he's been watching our basketball performance as of late, I can't say I blame him for drinking

"So, I don't think anyone should try to oust Coach Lowe from State. With this kind of press, State isn't going to get any good recruits anyway. Don't blame the coach."

FYI, Grundy and Grant were recruited by Sendek.

Also, Sidney Lowe can recruit. He just can't coach.

also note the lack of a mugshot in the AJ Blue article, and the fact the Grundy article is on the front page of wral.com, and the AJ Blue article is buried on wralsportsfan.com.

Hell the AJ Blue article isn't even on the front page of wralsportsfan, much less on the front page of wral.com. Talk about buried!

I WANT TO KNOW HOW THIS GUY CAN EVEN BE ON THE HIGHWAY IN THE FIRST PLACE, MAYBE HE HAS TO KILL ONE OF US FIRST....

So everyone who gets arrested now is asked if he went to college?
It's a DWI folks. WRAL should have asked if he was a bus student or did he go to neighborhood school as an adolescent. This is a more important question?
    ( LMAO )

pskunk119: "Current" UNC QB AJ Blue was also arrested over the weekend for DUI. When should we expect that article to appear?

Ummm, If you're "Currently" a benchwarmer, you don't typically make the news. State fans need to get some counseling. Especially after Butch's recruiting class AND after the Heels drop another double-digit pounding on the Pack in a couple of weeks.
