— A former employee of the Wake City-County Bureau of Identification faces charges of sexual exploitation of a minor and resisting arrest after month-long online sting operation in which he shared his fantasies about young girls with an undercover officer.

According to the warrant issued for a search of his house and vehicles, at 2133 Castle Pines Drive in Raleigh, Brian Robert Hotchkiss exchanged a series of messages with the officer in which he claimed to have a teen daughter and stepdaughter to whom he was attracted.

Officers identified a suspect in their ongoing search for online child sexual exploitation by responding to an ad on Craigslist that offered girls panties.

The exchanges took place using Craigslist's anonymous email messaging system, but the Craigslist account was later traced to an account registered to Hotchkiss at 330 S. Salisbury St. in Raleigh, home of the CCBI, and to his use of Time Warner Cable internet at his home.

According to the warrant, Hotchkiss had been dismissed from his job with the law enforcement agency.

He's a master of disguise, making him far more dangerous than your average sex offender.

Whether this guy did something wrong or not is mute for me. His pic and name and address have been posted on a news website and he has not been convicted of anything. Perhaps it may be better to post info on persons convicted of crimes and not those who are accused.

I don't think this was a fantasy website. I'm confused. those two pixs are not the same person. What was his job at the BofI?

Not condoning this type of behavior as healthy, but talking about something as a fantasy and doing it are 2 different things. Heck there's an entire internet full of fake mother daughter porn. Anais Nin wrote fantasy stories of incest. They sit on bookshelves at most used and new bookstores. I doubt without evidence of him actually trying to do something with a teen that this is going anywhere and the police may have a potential lawsuit. I also have to wonder if these cops don't have anything better to do all day.
