— A former Durham elementary school teacher is accused of taking indecent liberties with a student.

Ariel Allen, 25, was arrested and charged with indecent liberties on July 9, authorities said. He was released from jail the same day after posting a $15,000 bond.

Allen was a teacher at Oak Grove Elementary School, school officials said Sunday. He is no longer employed with the school system.

More details haven't been released.

David, you have no idea what you are talking about. NCAE doesn't even represent a MAJORITY of the teachers in this state. It is an ineffective group and has been for years. There is no teachers union in NC.

Now a powerful association: Look at the NC Troopers association, Starting pay pretty good, step raises, max pay in about 5 years for Troopers, making around 55 thousand. New cars every few years, thats a powerful group....looks like that might be changing though. Not bashing them, they have done good for themselves....look at those who have not, SBI, ALE, much lower pay

LOL. thats a good one, you do realize not many teachers are members of that organization due to their ineffectiveness. Teachers pay has been frozen for the last several years, they don't get step increases, job cuts last years across the state....you need to recheck or rewrite your wikipedia info

yeah good job with teacher salaries this year, which remain frozen for the second year in a row, with no step increases. real powerful. still isn't a union.

What union? There is no union. don't be a rush radio parrot.

I'm almost shocked that he is not longer employed with the school system. Wait until the union hears about this!
