Raleigh, N.C. — After a milder Thanksgiving Day, Black Friday promises to be warm as well, with temperatures in the upper 60s.
Fog and some drizzle welcomed early bird shoppers Friday morning, but others sleeping in will likely miss the rain completely. "Any rain we do see will be this evening, and it will be patchy and light," said WRAL meteorologist Elizabeth Gardner.
Skies will be mostly sunny for Black Friday shopping, but clouds and some fog will linger throughout the day.
Deal-seekers can leave the heavy coats and umbrellas at home as they head to stores, and people choosing to opt out of Black Friday can enjoy ideal weather for post-holiday events and reunions.
The warmer weather will be short-lived, as temperatures are expected to drop back into the 50s on Saturday and Sunday.
Overnight temperatures will approach freezing on Sunday, but skies will be clear and bright all weekend. Overall, it should be a beautiful weekend in the Triangle for holiday events like the Chinese Lantern Festival, the downtown Raleigh ice rink and the City Market Christmas on Sunday.
