Buckeye.... I feel your pain. I am through $20 a day. Doesn't look like I can afford to live in the country much longer. At $7 a gallon, I'll go to work and just stay there Monday through Friday. Might as well, got internet, tv, stove, frig, and showers there.

I wish it was only $6.10 per day. Try $33.00 per day!!!!

I WISH my commute cost that much!
And of course gas prices will continue to go up, they will add tolls along the route, Jim Long is no longer keeping tabs on the insurance industry.... so it looks like a lot more money is going to be spent getting to the job. Until the layoffs that is.

My wife and I spend about $800 a month of gas between the two of us. Unfortunately, we have jobs that require long commutes. So, we cut out eating out, movies, hair salon, going to malls (we buy at Dollar General now...even our food), upgrading the house and did not go anywhere on Memorial Day. Gas is a fact of life in our ingrained lifestyles. I expect gas to be in the $7 by next year. At least some of our politicians are getting rich on this gas price scheme. And they are driven around in limos!!

Those poor gas station owners.....somebody do something.

I also hope the state realizes that there is more opportunity to raise the highest in the Southeast gas taxes. Thanks Easley, Hackney and the rest of the Democrat brethern. It's a great legacy.

$6.10?? That's not even two gallons of gas - so waiting at lights and driving included its not all that much!
