— Lots of upcoming events featuring food trucks, including beer dinners, Brewgaloo and Competition Dining.

Chatham Street Chowdown

Food trucks will line up on Chatham Street this Sunday for Cary’s Chatham Street Chowdown. With live music, a beer and wine garden from Brueprint, Fortnight, and Chatham Hill Winery, this event is something that shouldn’t be missed. The event takes place from noon to 4:30 p.m.

Competition Dining series kicks off next week in Durham

Tickets are available for the Durham series of this year’s Got to Be NC Competition Dining Series. The bracket features “all star” teams including chefs from food trucks Captain Ponchos and KocinA. Dinners are April 18, 19 and 21. The winner will go on to compete in the Battle of Champions against other regional winners later this year.

Berkeley Café Takeover Tuesdays featuring chef collaborations

For those having Battistella’s withdrawals, this week Chef Brian Battistella will take over Berkeley Café. The menu will highlight his specialty - classic New Orleans' cuisine. The Berkeley Café's Takeover Tuesday runs 6 to 9 p.m. Reservations are recommended, but not required.

Monday Bull City Ciderworks pairing up with food trucks

Sad to say, but Bull City Ciderworks announced their Elizabeth Street taproom is closing on April 30. Don’t fret fans, as they are opening nearby at Dillard and Roxboro Street by early fall (just in time for apple harvest). Until it closes, there will be food truck pairing dinners every Monday. New food truck Buddhalicious will be there today (April 11). On April 18, Mobile-cuisine.com’s 2015 Food Truck Rookie of the Year, Route Bistro, will be on hand. On April 25, Bull City Street Food will be there. Ciderworks is partnering with BCSF for food offerings at its new taproom, so this a great sneak peek of that.

And on Sunday (April 17), Mama's Hot Chicken, a new food truck focusing on Nashville hot chicken, will debut at Ciderworks. The event will help raise money for the non-profit Intrepid Fallen Heroes.

Manna and Neuse River Brewing Beer Dinner

Manna will have a beer dinner at Neuse River Brewing’s taproom on Tuesday, April 19. The menu will feature three courses paired with the taproom's beer. Reservations are required.

Brewgaloo 2016 is around the corner

On Saturday, April 23, North Carolina’s largest craft beer festival, Brewgaloo, will take over Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh. The event will feature 85 North Carolina breweries, local food trucks, vendors and live music. Admission is free, but tickets are required for beer tastings. You can either get sample size pours or pints. Tickets are sold in $5 increments.

New this year, Brewgaloo will be hosting a block party the night before the big event. Tickets to the Friday, April 22, event are on sale now for $45. There will be selections from 35 breweries, including beer that will not be available on Saturday.

Downtown Raleigh Food Truck Rodeo coming up

The Downtown Raleigh Food Truck Rodeo will hold its first event of the season on May 1. The other dates for this year are June 12, Aug. 7 and Oct. 9. VIP early admission wristbands, which let you get in to buy food before the general public, are on sale now.
