RALEIGH, N.C. — As the temperatures warm up, there are a lot of outdoor festivals and events where food trucks will take center stage.
Coming up this week
This Sunday, Downtown Garner hosts Downtown Sounds at the Garner Performing Arts Center. The event features live music by Swivel Hip and Liquid Pleasure, beer from Double Barley and Deep River, and food trucks Baozi, Captain Ponchos, King’s Authentic Philly Cheesesteaks, Sweet Stacey Cakes, Ty’s All Natural, Two Roosters and Virgil’s Jamaica. Admission is free.
Pickin' in the Plaza kicks off Thursday night with Hank Pattie and The Current in City Plaza. Along with Oak City 7, there will be live music in City Plaza every Thursday night through Labor Day. The concerts are free to attend and there will be food trucks there every week.
Food Truck Rodeos scheduled this month
New Food Truck Spotlight
With new trucks entering the scene, we will feature a new food truck each week. Cut Bait Café is a new food truck features fresh North Carolina seafood. The menu includes shrimp burgers, crab cake sandwiches and seafood tacos. Sounds like a nice way to bring the beach to a workday lunch.
Art Sheppard covers food truck news on his blog, The Wandering Sheppard.
