— As the temperatures warm up, there are a lot of outdoor festivals and events where food trucks will take center stage.

Festivals at Durham Central Park

A Father’s Day tradition where the whole family can enjoy some of what Durham Central Park has to offer. The food trucks, craft beer and live music from Diali Cissokho & Kaira Ba and Mt. Merrill at Sunday's Durham Food Truck Rodeo all should pique one’s interest.

Also at Durham Central Park is the first ever Triangle Community Band Festival. Saturday's free concert is made up of five voluntary musician bands from around the Triangle. Food will be available from Bam Pow Chow, Bull City Burger and Brewery, Dang Good Dogs, Loco Pops and Pie Pushers.

Sub Noir Brewing turns 3

Sub Noir, the Raleigh boutique brewery that is under the radar (or under dark) celebrates turning 3 on Saturday. Their specialties are sour style beers like Flanders Red Ale, using Brettanomyces and Goses. They also make one stout using Count Chocula called Zee Count.

CJ’s Street Food will be here later in the day.

Triangle Town Center’s Creekside Wind Down

Each Friday evening, the Triangle Town Center hosts Creekside Wind Down. This family-friendly event has a live band, local beer, and food trucks that change weekly.

New Food Truck Highlight

With new trucks entering the scene, we will feature a new food truck each week. You may be familiar with the FRESH. ice cream location off Glenwood in Northwest Raleigh.

However, did you know FRESH. has a food truck? The food truck does not have all the flavors of their brick and mortar location, but they do use the same FRESH. ingredients.

Art Sheppard covers food truck news on his blog, The Wandering Sheppard.
