Belgian Waffology renamed their food truck Belgian Waffle Crafters. The naming is strictly a formality change, as ownership, the truck, and the recipe has not changed.

Porchetta fans should keep their eyes, ears and stomachs open. Their Southpoint Mall location is very close to opening.

Empire Eats food truck is now on the streets. Previously, the food truck operated during catering events. The truck is now open as a mobile food unit and it made a stop at Raleigh's First Friday last week. The menu was limited to BBQ pork and a couple of sides, although Twitter and Instagram have shown other options including guasillo braised short ribs and adobo roast pork tacos.

Upcoming events

Carrboro Farmers Market will host Evening Eats after Market on Wednesday. Food trucks Baguettaboutit, Gussy’s, Parlez Vous Crepe, and Tar Heel Creamery will be there with Carrboro’s Steel String Brewery will be serving beer. Noise Ordinance will perform live music during the event. The farmers market is open from 3 to 6 p.m. with Evening Eats to follow until 8:30 p.m.

Be sure to check out the limited-seating Pairing of the Bulls II on June 23. The project is a partnership between Bull City Ciderworks and Bull City Street Food featuring a five-course cider and food truck dinner.

I had a blast this weekend at Garner’s Downtown Sounds event. Their next big food truck event will be on Sunday, Oct. 25, their second annual Trick or Eats.
