RALEIGH, N.C. — Appetites are harmonizing this week as food trucks and music collaborate this weekend.
Moogfest, a four-day tribute to Dr. Robert Moog, started in 2004 to bring artists, futurist thinkers, inventors, entrepreneurs, designers, engineers, scientists and musicians together. Add food trucks to that list, as several will be in Durham to serve the masses this weekend. The event includes presentations, discussions and concerts at various venues throughout the city Thursday through Sunday. While many events require a ticket, American Tobacco Campus will be the hub for a lot of free programming.
Clayton Town Square Concert Series kicks off
Once a month from now until September, the Town of Clayton kicks of a free concert in the Town Square. The local Clayton band, The Central Park Band, will open the series this Friday at 5:30 p.m.  D’Burritos and The Wandering Moose food trucks will be on-hand.
Durham Blues and Brews Festival
Durham Central Park is hosting a blues and beer fest on Saturday, May 21. Attendees can enjoy music and pours from 20 different North Carolina breweries as part of the ticket price. American Meltdown, Bam Pow Chow, Baton Rouge Cuisine, BulKogi, Chick-N-Que, Lumpy’s Ice Cream, Mac-UR-Roni, Mama’s Hot Chicken, Parlez-Vous Crêpe and SoomSoom Pita Pockets are scheduled to attend.

BulKogi takes over the Berkeley Café
On Tuesday (May 17), BulKogi takes over the Berkeley Café’s kitchen where proceeds will benefit Wiley Elementary’s BackPack Buddies Program supported by the Inter-Faith Food Shuttle. Dinner service takes place from 6 to 9 p.m.
New Food Truck Highlight
With new trucks entering the scene, I wanted to highlight a new food truck each week. Fairly new to the Triangle is Captain Cookie and the Milkman. The Washington D.C.-based food truck bakes cookies on the truck and uses local dairies for milk and ice cream. The ice cream is used for delicious ice cream cookie sandwiches. With summer officially coming next month, you may want to set your food truck radars on this truck.
