Food truck news: KoKyu Na'Mean voted best restaurant on Yelp

Na’Mean named best restaurant per Yelp

USA Today searched each state in the United States to find the best restaurant per Yelp - KoKyu Na'Mean, the brick-and-mortar version of the KoKyu food truck. Before KoKyu Na’Mean, there was KoKyu BBQ, which parked on Rigsbee and Geer, feeding hungry patrons at Motorco and Fullsteam. In time, they added a permanent location in south Durham.

Global Eats explores Captain Ponchos

Each month, Global Eats exposes people to locally owned restaurants offering ethnic cuisine. This month they are highlighting Captain Ponchos, which started as a food truck and expanded to a restaurant with Chapel Hill and Wilmington locations. The food truck will park at the House of Swank Tuesday evening.

Taylor’s Wine Shop parking lot party

Taylor’s Wine Shop in North Raleigh is having one last parking lot party for the year on Saturday. Both Captain Cookie & The Milk Man and Sarge’s will serve folks enjoying craft beer and wine from Weyerbacher Brewing.

Trick or Eat Food Truck Rodeo

A growing Halloween tradition is a food truck rodeo in Garner. The Trick or Eat Rodeo this year is on Main Street in downtown Garner. In addition to 15 food trucks, there will also be three craft breweries.

A Place at the Table fundraiser at Trophy on Maywood

On Saturday, food trucks and Trophy Brewing will help raise funds for A Place at the Table. Pho Nomenal Dumpling, Qspresso and Sweet Stacey Cakes will be there along with music from DJ Triple B and an auction.

Pop A Top: A Craft Beer Dinner

Fullsteam Brewery and KocinA Catering is hosting a four-course craft beer dinner at Rebus Works on Saturday. Pop A Top will benefit Inter-Faith Food Shuttle’s Backpack Buddies program.

Food truck promotion with upcoming new movie, "Inferno"

On Friday, Bull City Street Food is partnering with the upcoming Tom Hanks movie based on Dan Brown’s "Inferno" novel. The truck will be parked at Sam’s Quik Shop, and staff will give away sneak peak viewing passes and posters for the movie.

Brunch at Lonerider

A rare treat will have Valentino’s parked on Sunday at Lonerider. With a reservation, purchased on the truck or at Lonerider, you can enjoy a selection of brunch items from the food truck. Additionally, a special Tiramisu Dead Eye Jack will be tapped on Sunday.
