Food Lion Deals 8/20: Chicken thighs, bacon, Voila & more!

Posted August 20

Food Lion has a number of good buys starting Wednesday, 8/20 including chicken thighs and drumsticks, Smithfield bacon, Bird's Eye Voila, green peppers, cabbage, Boston butt pork, 7UP, & more!

Food Lion Coupon Basics

Food Lion does not double coupons

They have no limits on number of total number of coupons they will take, unless specified in the ad. You may only use a maximum of 10 (ten) coupons for the same item per customer. This includes coupons that are downloaded onto your personal MVP Card.

BOGO items ring up at half price so if you only buy 1, it rings at half price. You can use a coupon on each BOGO sale item.

You cannot use Food Lion store coupons and manufacturer's coupons on the same item. "Stacking" coupons like that is not allowed per the Food Lion coupon policy.

You can see their entire coupon policy on their website HERE.

The ad indicates that prices are valid for stores in these cities: Apex, Bunn, Cary, Clayton, Franklinton, Fuquay-Varina, Garner, Holly Springs, Knightdale, Louisburg, Morrisville, Raleigh, Rolesville, Wake Forest, Wendell, Youngsville, Zebulon. If you do not live in one of these cities, your ad may be different and you can check for any differences on FoodLion.com.

E-Coupons: You can now load RedPlum.com manufacturer’s coupons to your Food Lion MVP card and when they scan your card at the register and you buy the qualifying items, the discount will come off automatically. I spoke with corporate and they confirmed that these are manufacturer’s coupons and not to be combined with hard copy manufacturer’s from the newspaper and other sources. She said their policy is only 1 coupon per product. No e-coupons will double. Click HERE for more information.

Quality Guarantee: Food Lion offers a double money back quality guarantee on all Food Lion store brands.

There is a new weekly e-mail format this week and it did not include any Food Lion printable coupons. You will need to go to the Coupon Hub at FoodLion.com to print Food Lion coupons.

Gift card promo: $10 coupon off your next shopping trip to Food Lion when you buy $50 or more in Cold Stone, iTunes or Microsoft xbox gift cards, Valid 8/13 – 8/26/14.

I have the same problem with a coupon or two not coming off my order every time I shop at Harris Teeter - guess you have to watch your receipts everywhere

  • roseviking Aug 20, 1:06 p.m.

Be sure to check your receipt to make sure you are getting all the coupons you download to your MVP card when you buy the correct items. It seems that every week, I do not receive one or two of the coupons. I have complained to Food Lion but they don't respond.

At the website use dropdown menu for "savings & promotions" ( first choice on left ) it will have coupons as one of the choices then you can choose print at home or load to MVP card .
I am disappointed there are no email coupons but maybe they will return soon

1specialk - there are no special weekly printable coupons anymore, it appears. I did see some coupons for Food Lion brand products in the printable coupons on the coupon hub.

    Faye,
Even when I went to coupon hub for the food lion weekly coupons, I did not see any there. Where did you find the weekly coupons?
