NCTUTT - My Food Lion took off the $5 off $20 before all my other coupons .The cashier actually asked if I had one then she pulled it out of my stack to scan first .

  • nstutt Oct 29, 2015

Thanks Faye. There was no wording on this coupon about the minimum total being after all other coupons so that's why I had to ask the question. BTW, I got this coupon in the free bag of groceries that FL was giving out a couple weeks ago. So I assume others got this same coupon.

Nstutt - most grocery stores require that your total at the register (before taxes) is $20 after all other sales and coupons have been deducted in order to use a store coupon like the one you have. Usually the coupon will have wording on it about the minimum total being after all other coupons. You can also use that coupon at Harris Teeter as a competitor's coupon as long as it isn't a printable coupon.

I have a coupon from FL for $5 off a $20 order. I am sure that is before taxes. But what about coupons? Is it the total of all the items bought before coupons are taken off any of the items? Or to put it another way, do I just add up all the shelf tag prices of the items until I get to $20 i.e. if I bought 20 items that cost a dollar each, would I be set and then be able to add coupons after that?
