Food Lion Deals 5/1: Avocados, cucumbers, chicken legs & more!

Posted April 30, 2013
Updated May 1, 2013

Food Lion has some very good produce deals this week including avocados and cucumbers for .50 each and roma tomatoes for .79/lb. You'll also find deals on chicken breast, chicken leg quarters (.69/lb!) and Xtra laundry detergent!

These deals are valid 5/1 - 5/7.

Food Lion Coupon Basics

Food Lion does not double coupons

They have no limits on number of coupons they will take, unless specified in the ad

BOGO items ring up at half price so if you only buy 1, it rings at half price. You can use a coupon on each BOGO sale item.

You cannot use Food Lion store coupons and manufacturer's coupons on the same item. "Stacking" coupons like that is not allowed per the Food Lion coupon policy.

The ad indicates that prices are valid for stores in these cities: Apex, Bunn, Cary, Clayton, Franklinton, Fuquay-Varina, Garner, Holly Springs, Knightdale, Louisburg, Morrisville, Raleigh, Rolesville, Wake Forest, Wendell, Youngsville, Zebulon. If you do not live in one of these cities, your ad may be different and you can check for any differences on FoodLion.com.

E-Coupons: You can now load RedPlum.com manufacturer’s coupons to your Food Lion MVP card and when they scan your card at the register and you buy the qualifying items, the discount will come off automatically. I spoke with corporate and they confirmed that these are manufacturer’s coupons and not to be combined with hard copy manufacturer’s from the newspaper and other sources. She said their policy is only 1 coupon per product. No e-coupons will double. Click HERE for more information.

If you have the $1 printable coupon (when you buy 3 avocados from Mexico and 1 dozen eggs) that was available a while back on the Incredible Edible Egg's FB page, this is a good time to use it: Food Lion's My Essentials 18 ct. eggs are on sale for $2, and avocados are on sale for $0.50 each. The avocados I bought were beauties.

The weekly email includes a link for:
    May Beer of the Month
Check out our beer of the month, complete with a featured recipe and $4 rebate on your purchase of meat or seafood.
The link takes me to the MVP coupon clip-to-card section, where I am not seeing this rebate. Help! Am I missing something?
